Sugar Water/Nectar
Commercial, water-soluble powders, made to simulate nature as closely as possible, are available.
You may also make your own sugar nectar for hummingbirds:
Mix 1 part pure sugar-cane sugar to 3 or 4 parts boiling water. Red food coloring is usually unnecessary.
Let cool completely before using.
Fill clean feeders and store left-over nectar in a glass jar in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
